Better late than never

Here we are in week 2…Last week was pretty awesome. I met a lot of the rangers…went to some pretty amazing places…ate free food with all of the people who live and work here. All and all it has been pretty awesome. Only thing that I can say is raining on my parade is A: the rain…haha…and B: freaking spiders! I hAtE spiders. There little creepy crawly legs…there beady little eyes…and the way they are 50 times bigger than the spiders back home!

There was a spider on the ceiling last night so I grabbed the spider spray…this shit doesn’t work but it scares them off…I sprayed him a bunch until he lost grip and fell…but he swung into the wall and made a thud…then I sprayed him some more and he hit the ground with a splat…yet still unscathed. He continued to crawl down the hall and I kept hitting him with the spray. He either eventually died (keep my fingers crossed) or he made his way to one of the rooms down the hall…but not my room

Next week is full of adventures. Tomorrow we are going with one of the geologists here down to this place called Castolon…seems like great fun and great connections for my 20 page paper on the geology of Big Bend!! Then Wednesday is our 12 mile hike that I am slightly worried about…and Friday is the over night rafting trip!

And after that I start work…which is actually a little undefined in itself. We have not really been told what days…where…or what we will be doing whatever it is that they are going to want us to do…apparently it is a big hodge podge of things…and they really don’t know. All I know is that I need a program ready in a bout 2 weeks…so I started it…

I am giving a program to visitors on “Why NOT to wear flip flops in the desert” using my own dialog of an injury I got from wearing flip flops when I lived in Arizona! Should be pretty fun…and hilarious with all of the smelly feet jokes I plan to squeeze in there!

82% ready 18% FREAKED OUT!

Car is back and better than ever. I even had the brakes totally redone. All of my rotors were ready to go and my front pads were done…I am hell on brakes!

Half of the car is packed up…I have a list of about 25 things that I still have to cram in there…but that includes my toothbrush and a bunch of other tiny things! I am pretty crammed in there! It will be a tight fit. And a slow ride…but I have no problems with that! I will get there eventually!

Mom and I went to Mcguires tonight…I didn’t tell anyone from Pensacola…but I was sitting right next to Donna’s section…she was super nice to me. Made me feel pretty good. My mom had a good time which is really great! Dad went to Amarillo TX to get their RV that has all of her stuff in it! It was a super huge weight that has been lifted so it was cool that we got to go out after! Super stuffed!

Speaking of stuffed…I need to start working out BIG TIME! I am bringing my Yoga Booty Ballet…haha…yeah, you laugh…but that crap will kick you BUTT! For real!

Oh…and for my fReAkInG OUT!!! Not only am I still pretty pmsy like…but my stress got the better of me the other day when I was trying to get my car back and fixed and back together…I finally got my radio fixed today…I pray to God that everything else will go as planned…

And speaking of God…I will be going to church with my Grandparents tomorrow…I hope its not all weird and stuff…They have a tendency to make me feel a little awkward…But whatever. It will be cool!

load ‘em up

I have finally begun to pack. I leave for Big Bend in less than a week. OMG! I have everything packed up except for things that I can’t really pack up yet…clothes and stuff. I get my car back on Friday so I will be able to actually pack up the car…hopefully everything will fit!! It seems like my pile o’ stuff to take has doubled in size since I first made my list!

As Friday grows near I am getting more anxious about my car! It had better be fixed tomorrow or I will freak out! These people are the worst EVER! Billy Owens Collision is HoRrIbLe just so you know! Not that you will ever be able to find them bacause they don’t even have a sign! I don’t even know why I left my car at this posunk stupid shop…but I did…and they are causing me so much heartache! Grr to them!

Just when I am not looking for a relationship because I am leaving…here comes the best relationship ever. Even more interesting is that he is going this weekend to the Nascar races in Montgomery or something and will be back the day before I leave! One day! We went to a movie tonight and I left early because I knew he had to pack…but we have spent almost every last moment together the past week!! We went to the fair…he came with me to Pensacola for my going away thingy…tonight we went to a movie…hmmm…I am gunna miss him! It will be worth it though! I will have a lot of fun! And he will miss me
